Bishop Davies and "All Hands on Deck"

On Tuesday, March 26, 2019 we had a large devotional meeting.  The announced purpose of the meeting was to work together to prepare the Europe Area for the coming of the Lord which includes serving the poor and needy.  Bishop Dean M. Davies, of the Presiding Bishopric and Elder Richard J. Maynes, a General Authority Seventy came from Salt Lake City to announce the reorganization of the Europe Welfare and Self-Reliance Services departments.  For the past 5 years they have been operating as two different departments and now they are to integrate as one new department.  At the present time our new department is called the "Welfare and Self-Reliance Department", but that name may change.  We have a new area manager and we are looking forward to additional changes as time passes.  On Thursday and Friday of the same week we met together with all the employees and missionaries in the Welfare/SRS department and "brainstormed" how we could cooperate to better serve the poor and needy of the world and the Church.  We think there is a lot we can all do to provide aid where needed, help all to become more self-reliant and provide opportunities for service.
