Jenny has been a key player in the Welfare and Self –Reliance Department for the past two years. Jenny is not only a beacon of sunshine and positivity, but she has a wealth of knowledge. You might say that she is in possession of the institutional memory for the department. When anyone needed help to negotiate the deeper recesses of the institution, Jenny has been there to help. She is like a lighthouse on the shore for those of us figuratively “lost at sea” in an ocean of new processes and unfamiliar regulations. She has truly helped show us the way.
Jenny was on loan to us in "Welfare" from the Temple Department. With the rededication of the Frankfurt Temple in October, she will be returning to the Temple Department. The temple will not be open until October, but they want her back to get things arranged before all the excitement begins.
The temple open house is September 13-28 with the rededication on October 20, 2019. The temple has been closed for nearly 4 years Everyone is looking forward to the re-opening. After October, the temple will only be 20 - 30 minutes away instead of 4-5 hours.
We currently have permission to travel to temples within a 500 km radius of Frankfurt. That gives us opportunites to visit temples in Freiberg (3 1/2 hr), Bern (4 hr), Hague (4 hr), and Paris (5 1/2 hr). We don't complain about distance because we can visit several beautiful cities and temples. When we served our first mission in Croatia/Bosnia, we never had the opportunity to visit a temple for the entire 18 months. We truly are thankful for the opportunities that we have.
