February 10, 2019 - Speaking in Church

Today being Sunday, we went to church.  First off, Jac gave Nora Elizabeth a name and a blessing.  He blessed her to reach out and serve those in need.  To have integrity, to be a leader and speak up. To not be afraid to share her testimony.   She has such a sweet spirit.  We are going to miss her and her big sister, Madi.

It was also our mission farewell – I mentioned that this was our 3rd  mission overseas and explained what a humanitarian mission is.  I mentioned the various types of humanitarian projects and taught 5 basic humanitarian principles.  I gave a plug for senior missions and wrapped it us with my testimony. Part way through my talk I saw Madison (our 2 year old granddaughter) start walking up the aisle.  I paused and motioned her to come up.  She came up on the stand.  I thought she would go and sit by Gary, but she just stood up on the box the children use at the pulpit and put her little chin on the edge of the stand and just looked at everyone.  I enjoyed this, but got a bit distracted. Finally, her dad came up and took her back to sit with the family.  She was so cute.  Up until now, she has lived with us her entire life.  Thank goodness for Marco Polo and FaceTime.

After the meeting concluded, we went back to our house and had soups, salads, homemade rolls, and of course a variety of treats with friends and family.

We were so thankful for all who came and supported us.  We truly feel blessed to be able to have the health and well-being and the means to be able to go to Germany and serve the Lord at this time.

The very foundation of the Welfare Services Program is to help people to help themselves.  In connection with this, properly used, every human need can be meet through the Welfare Services Program.
